NVS Company News

In 2009 the state of Utah became the first state to implement an Appraisal Management Company registration program. In 2010 the Dodd - Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was signed into law. This legislation revised the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA) to include Appraisal Management Company Minimum Requirements. These minimum requirements are to be applied by a State in the registration of appraisal management companies. These requirements include that an appraisal management company must ‘‘register with and be subject to supervision by a State appraiser certifying and licensing agency in each State in which such company operates.”

As of February 2012, we are pleased to announce that NVS is registered as an Appraisal Management Company in each of the 23 states that have implemented Appraisal Management Company registration programs to date. Those 23 states are listed below, along with the NVS license or registration number for each state. Other states have passed Appraisal Management Company registration legislation or may be currently working on registration legislation. NVS will apply and register with those other states as they implement their Appraisal Management Company registration program.
